Hi, happy Friday.
So I wasn't even sure I was gonna record a podcast episode today. You can probably hear from my voice that I have a—or I have had, I'm a lot better now—but I have had a real stinking cold this week.
So, um, this week's episode is gonna be a short one. It is gonna be just a gentle one because, truthfully, it has been one of those weeks.
Definitely not just, um, the being poorly, but I've had tech gremlins. I've even given myself a black eye and a grazed knee.
And yeah, it's been one of those weeks, definitely.
And that's been launch week. It's been the founding member launch of The Website Growth Club.
And it's been fun. It's gonna be one of those things that I'll look back on in my business and think, oh, remember when that all happened at once?
So, yeah. I thought rather than forcing a big topic today, I'm gonna share three bite-sized website tasks that you can do even when your energy is low, even when you're not feeling like doing lots.
And these small actions can still make a real difference.
And if you're anything like me, that's exactly the kind of support that you need this week.
So, if you are listening to this on the day it's released, then just to let you know that the Website Growth Club founding member launch closes today.
So if you are listening today, then hop in if you wanna become a member and join us for the founding launch.
If not, then if you're listening to this later, you'll no doubt be able to join the Growth Club anyway.
And I would love to have you there, whenever you're listening to this episode.
So task one, the thing that you can do if you don't have a lot of energy and you want to just do a little something on your website, is review your homepage headline.
So this is the first thing that people see when they land on your website.
And so, does it clearly say who you help, what you offer, what they need to do to get it?
Could it be more specific? Could it be more benefit-led?
So rather than talking about the features, or rather than just talking about you, could you talk more about how it helps people and make it a little clearer about what you do and how?
And you know what—what is the benefit for them, really?
Even just tweaking a few words here can make a massive difference. It can really help.
So you can test your headline by asking a friend, or you can even use a headline analyser.
You can get these free headline analysers that you can use just to test it and just see if there's anything you can do to make it better.
So task two is to check your navigation bar.
Sometimes our navigation bars get cluttered, and we don't necessarily notice it.
So take a fresh look at your website, take a fresh look at your navigation bar, and have a look if there's anything there that isn't absolutely necessary.
Are there any links there that are causing confusion?
Is there any wording in that navigation that you could streamline or remove? Are there any links that you could remove?
Are there any menus that could actually be sub-menus of the other menus in your navigation menu?
And what can you do just to make it easier, just to make it simpler for people to actually come into your website, understand what to do, find the thing that they're looking for straight away?
So is there a clear path within that navigation menu to your main offer—the thing that you really wanna focus on selling—or to your contact page?
Can you simplify it to give people a cleaner experience and a better user experience?
Less choice equals less overwhelm for your visitors.
So it's really important to make sure that you have a real clear, simple, user-focused navigation menu.
And then the final one, task number three, is pick one page—maybe your about page, or your services page, or your contact page—and just read through it and look for anything out of date, confusing, or missing.
So just one page and just one pass. That's it.
And that's a real simple one to do.
You don't have to worry about tech. You don't have to worry about adding new things in.
Just think about if there's anything in there that you can go in and make a small tweak to your copy that could help to make that page a little bit better.
And you feel like you've made some progress on your website then.
So if your energy is low this week, just pick one of those tasks and give it five or ten minutes, and that's often all it takes to start building a little bit of momentum.
And if you'd love more bite-sized support like this, The Website Growth Club is a great place to come in and get monthly bite-sized lessons to help you improve your website traffic and conversions.
And we work through it together one step at a time, without any overwhelm and without feeling like you are having loads of tech headaches and you're spending forever on your website.
So it's designed to help you make small, sustainable improvements that actually make a difference in your business.
So thank you so much for listening.
I hope you have a lovely weekend. I have no idea if I'm swimming or not.
I would love to—I'm gonna see how I feel in the morning.
I think it will do me the world of good to get in the water.
I didn't go last weekend because it was about a week ago that I started feeling poorly.
So I am really hoping that—'cause it looks like it's gonna be a lovely weekend as well—I'm gonna be able to get in and just let go of some of the, oh, the bad juju from this week.
So thanks for listening and I'll see you next time.
Bye.
